2012 Run For Life Featured Donor Family:

In Memorium: SARAH DILLON

This year's Featured Family honors Sarah Dillon, the 18-year-old daughter of Julie Lopata, who died tragically in a car accident Nov. 24, 2011.

Having signed the back of her driver's license designating her status as an organ donor, her heart, liver, pancreas, kidneys and corneas were made available and helped to save the lives of several recipients on transplant waiting lists, and her bone marrow was donated to science.

We anticipate that a large contingent of runners from the KC area will be participating in this year's Run for Life in support of Julie and to honor Sarah. A representative from this group will make a few remarks at the beginning of the awards ceremony on Saturday morning after the conclusion of the 10-mile event.
