Junior Run For Life - Friday, APRIL 6 at 6:00 PM
Anyone can participate but this event is geared towards children. Young runners may run a 0.5 mile or 1.0 mile course or both, if they are up to the challenge. The courses will be on the track in Yager Stadium on the campus of Washburn University. An even shorter run/walk "Tot Trot" will be set up for the youngest of runners and their parents. Runners should gather in Lee Arena Friday, April 6th beginning around 4:00 PM to register and check-in, but no later than 5:30 PM. The Jr. Run for Life will start at 6:00 PM that evening. Chaperons are welcome to participate as well. Medals will be given to all participants. Special recognition will be given to those runners completing the Jr. Run for Life 10 Mile Challenge (see below for details). Jr. Run for Life 10 Mile Challenge Jr. Run for Life participants are encouraged to complete the Jr. Run for Life 10 Mile Challenge (or other longer distances). Challenge participants must log a total of 9 miles prior to race day and then complete the Jr. Run for Life 1 mile course on race day. Younger runners (under age 10) who complete 4 miles prior to the race and finish the shorter Jr. Run for Life course on race day will also be recognized. Challenge participants must submit an official Jr. Run for Life training log. The log must be signed by an adult guardian/witness.
